1. If you can’t afford to pay your rent/utility bills then don’t move out of your parents house.
2. If I have to constantly remind you that it’s the 1st of the month and rent is due then you shouldn’t be living on your own. RENT IS DUE THE SAME TIME EVERY MONTH!! THERE SHOULD JUST BE A CHECK WAITING FOR ME AND I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO ASK.
Moving into this apartment has really fucked up my last year in NYC. I’ve been here a year and the last 6 months have arguably been the worst time of my life just because of my living situation. I can’t wait to get back to BK. I can’t wait to get back to living with responsible people. I can’t wait for things to turn around for me in NYC. My second year here is about change (even though I’m going to be turning 24 again (cos 24 sucked the first time)).
First cut from A Creature I Don’t Know, ‘Sophia’ doesn’t so much spell out Laura Marling’s ambition as write it in the sky above us. Gently fluttering forward from its initial movements, it grows from sullen and pensive to upbeat and country-indebted. Talk of judgement day rolls off from Marling’s tongue, as an initially sparkless effort becomes something quite formidable.
Below is an album teaser - above is a slightly low-quality stream. Here’s a link to the song in a finer form.
